Facility to support the Reactor Protection Systems III group. Repair, Replacement and Automation Services work on projects to enhance plant safety and reliability by providing the instrumentation and control, pumps and motors, and electro-mechanical products and services that our customers require. RRAS maintains existing systems, implements replacement programs, performs I&C asset management, and provides I&C for new plants.Candidate will function as a Hardware System Engineer and RRAS Parts Engineer with emphasis on Solid State Protection System (SSPS) support.Primary responsibilities will include:- Providing spare parts and repair support for the SSPS installed operating plant base.- Includes various vendor interfaces providing services in support of these efforts.- Includes direct customer interface in spare part identification and failure definition.- Includes performance planning, monitoring and providing status for each effort to the RRAS Parts organization.- Includes writing Commercial Dedication Instructions (CDIs) and Test Specifications (T-Specs) used for the commercial dedication of nuclear plant safety system components.- Includes providing engineering support for the equipment qualification of items used in nuclear plant safety systems.- Includes identification of alternate components to address component obsolescence.- Providing engineering consultation service to the SSPS installed operating plant base technical staff.- Includes discussions of SSPS operations under both normal and failure conditions.- Includes discussions at both the detailed equipment level and systems level within a plant.- Includes preparation of Westinghouse position papers, Technical Bulletins and InfoGrams.- Development of installed operating plant base modifications for both customer and/or Westinghouse installation.- Includes scope definition of the desired modification.- Includes performance planning, monitoring and providing status for each effort.- Includes Field Change Notice (FCN) development, testing and installation.- Including update of all associated documentation, e.g. drawings and technical manualsSpecific Desired Skills- Working knowledge of Westinghouse PWR systems and operation.- Experience with Westinghouse I&C System hardware. Specifically, the Solid State Protection System.- Working knowledge of Westinghouse class 1E system and equipment requirements.- Working knowledge of Westinghouse PWR licensing basis pertaining to the SSPS.- Ability to perform detailed circuit analysis (printed circuit board component level for new and existing circuit designs). This should include use of SPICE.- Qualification as an SAP Parts Engineer.- Ability to create and modify various technical documents (drawings, technical manuals, CDIs, T-Specs).- Knowledge of current and legacy document management systems.- Knowledge of the quality policies and procedures covering the position requirements.General Job FunctionThe successful candidate will be a member of an engineering team supporting the SSPS installed operating plant base.
