Chevron Africa & Latin America Exploration & Production (CALAEP) is accepting applications for a Greenfield Reservoir Simulation Engineer, located in Houston, Texas.Overview:This is a hands-on reservoir engineering role with emphasis on simulation model building and history matching to include the variety of activities normally associated with field development work such as well planning and reservoir surveillance. The ideal candidate will have experience in reserves and resource assessments, preparing for Reserves Advisory Committee reviews and annual submissions. Successful execution of the developments in the Greenfield portfolio is key to delivering Southern Africa Strategic Business Unit (SASBU) business plans. Qualifications:Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to:• Working with development geologists and senior reservoir engineers to build a robust production forecasting tool, develop reserves and monitor reservoir management plans.• Working in multi-disciplinary teams in Houston and Luanda to meet plan commitments.• Enhancing subsurface decisions through application of project development and execution process tools and subsurface decision analysis.• Demonstrating Chevron-Way behaviors in team with Government and Oil Company partners at workshops.Supporting the Senior Reservoir Engineer and Greenfield Technical Leader on projects being developed in Blocks 0 and 14.• Working with the team on reserves and resource determination, well testing and analysis, water flood and well completion optimization.Required Qualifications:• A Bachelor’s Degree.• A minimum of 3 years of directly related experience.• Experience in reservoir simulation model building and history matching.• Knowledge of secondary recovery processes, such as waterflooding.• Experience in production forecasting by techniques other than simulation, such as material balance methods (using GAP, MBal and Prosper) and decline analysis.• The willingness and ability to travel to Luanda, Angola.• The ability to work in a multi-discipline, multi-cultural collaborative environment.Relocation Options:Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:Houston, TX 77002 Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
