Geotechnical Engineer III- I
Geotechnical Engineer III-I
This position is posted in a range from an Engineer III (salary grade 11) to an Engineer I (salary grade 18). The position is based out of AEP’s corporate office in Columbus, Ohio.
Position Description:
Responsible for performing civil and geotechnical field and office work, including soil and foundation engineering, site design, landfill and earthen dam design and inspection; and civil/site design. Responsibilities will also include managing consultants, construction oversight and preparing engineering reports.
Requirements:
A MSCE is required. PE in AEP’s service territory is a plus.  A background of 3-8 years of experience is desired. Ideal candidate will have strong technical and communication skills,  experience providing field support to construction of foundation systems, landfills and dams; familiarity with geotechnical investigations and analysis of foundations, pavements, seepage, settlement and stability analysis of geotechnical structures. Knowledgeable in the development and implementation of erosion and sediment control plans and civil/site design. AutoCAD experience,a plus.
Travel requirements: up to 30% in AEP's Eastern and Western regions.
