Gas Plant Technician

Include, but are not limited to; landfill gas system well-field tuning, landfill gas system maintenance, gas extraction well and header repair, flare maintenance and troubleshooting and sump maintenance and repair. Maintain Responsibility for the oversight of all gas collection systems.   Maintaining an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Environmental Regulations which affect the operations and compliance of landfill gas management systems.    Qualifications The requirements listed below are representative of the qualifications necessary to perform the job. As the Landfill Gas Technician, you must be able to successfully accomplish and/or meet the following qualifications: *            Maintain optimization of gas production and quality *            Successfully monitor and operate gas and flow detection devices *           Ensure safety and compliance with laws and regulations *            Maintain landfill gas well-field, blower, flare and leachate/condensate pumps *            Coordinate and Supervise landfill site maintenance contractors *            Manage landfill maintenance costs *            Integrate well-field data to enhance the construct ability and operation of a landfill gas management system. *            Troubleshoot and diagnose electrical related issues of blower / flare station *           Provide directional support to other technicians or personnel as needed *            Maintain Responsibility for the oversight of all gas collection systems *           Provide budgetary and project management support for the design and installation of landfill gas management systems *            Develop and communicate work plans for efficient day-to-day operations *            Maintain an up-to-date knowledge and understanding of Environmental Regulations which affect the operations and compliance of landfill gas management systems *            Properly tune and balance a landfill gas collection system *            Troubleshoot Blower / Flare Station Equipment and condensate management systems *            Problem solve and Diagnose operational issues of a landfill gas management system *            Develop and implement Preventative Maintenance Programs *            Complete understanding of Environmental Regulations which affect the operation and compliance of landfill gas management systems *            Perform basic preventative maintenance functions of mechanical components of landfill gas management systems. *           Basic Computer Skills *            Understanding of Health and Safety LFG Issues *            Mechanical and technical aptitude   Education and Experience Required: *           5 Years or greater of landfill gas field experience *           High school diploma or G.E.D., and work experience in an industry with similar job related skills. Preferred: *            Associate's Degree, or equivalent experience, and two to seven years work experience in an industry with similar job related skills. *            Working knowledge of water and sump pumps, gas detection devices, gas sampling protocol, well-field tuning protocol, landfill blower and flare operation, and landfill cover maintenance a plus.   Certificates, Licenses, Registrations or Other Requirements Hazwooper 40 hr certification.
