The creation of BP's new Alternative Energy (AE) business has opened up a number of exciting and challenging possibilities. The Finance Director will play a key role in leading the overall commercial, planning and financial activities of BP Wind. This includes power market analysis, IT systems, Tax and Finance support. The Finance Director will instill new management information and performance management practices and provide an externally-facing financial perspective to potential stakeholders.

Accountabilities Include:Ensure compliance with BP and public financial accounting and reporting standards.Gather, review, consolidate and report BP Wind financial results on a monthly, quarterly and annual basis.Develop, drive and monitor performance management processes across the business.Refine the management information reporting process and systems to track key value-drivers in real-time.Recommend interventions for continuous improvement in competitive performance. Work with the Chief Financial Officer, the Finance team and third-party financial institutions to secure financing for wind projects on global basis.Support business development teams with deal support and expertise in structuring financial component of projects.Ensure compliance with necessary product and process standards on global and local levels.Develop mitigation plans for key business risks.Assure financial regulatory compliance with Sarbanes Oxley.Provide sound management and leadership for the wind business in commercial, finance, IT, power market analysis and general business matters. Manage the systems, policies and framework for governance/Capital Value Process for Wind investments and projects, transactions and facilitating transactions through the internal and Wind/Solar Board approval process.Serve as a member of the BP Wind leadership team.Ensure development of capabilities within the business by managing the people pipeline and skills development process, this includes managing a team of 15 to 20 people in various disciplines.


Required Qualifications:
To be considered for the role of Finance Director applicants must have:Legal authorization to work in the US on a full-time basis for anyone other than current employer.A minimum of a Bachelors Degree in Business, Finance or Accounting.A minimum of 10 years of experience in a leadership role within Finance.Strong skills in leading teams through steadily increasing responsibility for financial control and commercial aspects of a business.Strong financial analysis skills with demonstrated abilities to leverage this knowledge for driving the business environment.Strong expertise and experience in raising and managing third-party capital/debt.

Preferred Qualifications:
In addition to the required qualifications the successful candidate is likely to be able to demonstrate:A Certified Public Accountant (CPA).Power industry experience.Experience with mergers and acquisitions.An MBA Degree.
