Chevron North America Exploration and Production is accepting online applications for the position of Facilities Engineer - Water Storage located in Houston, TX.Overview:The Piceance Program is being developed on 40,000 acres of Chevron-owned acreage in beautiful northwest Colorado. Currently in the development phase, the program includes well pads, from which purpose-built rigs can drill up to 22 wells each; gas processing and compression facilities; water treating facilities; pipelines; and infrastructure development. Project reserves are 3 trillion cubic feet (TCF) of gas, recoverable from drilling 2,500 wells over the life of the program.Qualifications:Key Responsibilities:• Review and approve plans, specifications and engineering calculations completed by a contract engineering firm to produce a design for short and long term water storage, transportation, and injection facilities. As part of this approval process the individual will also have to work with other Chevron (CVX) shareholders to obtain and co-ordinate their concerns and responses back to engineering firm. • The individual will also be responsible for reviewing proposed equipment from vendors to determine its acceptability in the proposed facilities. • Responsible for the overseeing the preparation of construction work packages and work with CVX construction and inspection personnel as they obtain construction bids. • May be responsible for preparing budgetary and detailed construction cost estimates, cash flow spending forecasts as the project is completed. • Responsible for the preparation of Authorization for Expenditure (AFE) documentation and to obtain approval for the required expenditures. • The individual will be responsible for preparing any required Decision Support Packages to document decisions.• Required to work closely with a contract engineering firm to produce an acceptable design which is approved by all the required work groups involved with the Piceance Project. • Review the contracting engineering firm to ensure that they are staffed appropriately and correctly prioritize their work to meet the project requirements. • The individual will be responsible for ensuring that all CVX work groups (safety, procurement, permitting, etc…) complete their work requirements, in a timely manner, and in order to meet the schedule requirements needed to meet the production deadlines. • Manage, develop, review and execute personal and project Safety and Diversity Plans which encourage a safe and diverse culture. • Design and review facilities for Safety in Design. • Understand, utilize and mentor Operations and team members on safety processes and procedures. • Set the example for company and business partner personnel that safety is the first priority.Required (Basic) Qualifications• Bachelor’s degree required in Engineering; preferred discipline in Chemical, Mechanical or Civil.• Minimum 5 years experience in facilities design and construction in the areas of sweet gas production and the associated water treatment, storage transportation & injection systems or, in other petroleum liquids pumping/piping systems.• Experience in designing and constructing land based facilities, with a focus on the tankage and liquids pipeline facility designs.• Minimum 5 years of experience demonstrating proven implementation of Capital Stewardship requirements while working with an engineering firm. • Must have a demonstrated understanding of process engineering and gas field production operations (gathering, dehydration and compression) and associated subsurface and operations interfaces.• Demonstrated ability to work using Decision Analysis processes.• The successful candidate will have a history of demonstrated experience designing and constructing land based facilities, with a focus on facility design and liquids pipeline facility designs. • Strong working knowledge of the required ANSI & API codes governing this work.• The position requires basic minimum scheduling and management skills.• Ability to lead Job Safety Analysis.Relocation Options:• Relocation may be considered within Chevron parameters.This is a safety sensitive position.EOE M/F/D/V Learn more about Chevron Location:Houston, TX 77002 Status:Full Time, Employee Job Category:Engineering
