Entry Level Engineers/Scientists (Multiple Positions at All Levels)
Engineers/Scientists (Multiple Positions at All Levels) - ALL APPLICANTS MUST BE U.S. CITIZENS.
The U.S. Department of Energy (DOE) recently awarded EnergyWorks Joint Venture LLC, a joint venture between New West Technologies, LLC and Energetics Incorporated, a multi-year technology development contract to support the Office of Energy Efficiency and Renewable Energy (EERE). EnergyWorks provides EERE with technical, analytical, and management support for the development and deployment of cutting-edge renewable energy technologies - solar, wind, hydrogen, biomass, geothermal, and hydropower – to help meet America’s future energy and climate challenges. We also support EERE’s programs to develop and deploy new technologies that improve the energy efficiency of our nations’ vehicles, homes and other buildings, factories, and government facilities.
We are currently accepting applications for Engineers and Scientists to work in our locations in Landover and Columbia, MD, Washington, D.C., and on-site at DOE in Washington, D.C.
Education/Experience: Entry- and mid-level positions require a minimum of a Bachelor’s Degree in science, engineering, or related field; a Master’s degree in those fields is preferable for senior positions. The entry-level positions require one (1) to four (4) years of relevant experience. Candidates for the mid-level and senior positions must have a minimum of five (5) and ten (10) years of relevant experience, respectively, preferably in energy or environmental consulting or technology development.
Responsibilities: Engineers/Scientists assist EERE clients with a variety of activities required to run an effective technology development program. Responsibilities may include: evaluating energy, technology, and market trends; evaluating technical and economic feasibility of renewable energy technologies; evaluating technical and economic feasibility and energy-efficient end-use technologies; identifying and assessing applications and markets for these technologies; characterizing technical and market barriers to commercialization and deployment, and evaluating strategies to overcome these barriers; assessing technology impacts (actual and projected); reviewing technical reports; preparing technical assessments; and performing other analysis as required.
Skills/Abilities: Candidates must possess excellent technical and analytical capabilities, strong communications and organizational skills, attention to detail, and the ability to contribute effectively to simultaneous tasks. Candidates for senior positions must have proven abilities in managing programs, projects, and staff. Proficiency required in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and Access).
Please submit your resume with a cover letter and two (2) writing samples to recruiter@energetics.com . Your cover letter should include your salary requirements and a detailed explanation of how your skills and background align with the needs and qualifications of the position. Please indicate your interest in working on-site at DOE in Washington, D.C.
