Position Title: Energy Specialist –Applications
Company description: Connecticut Center for Advanced Technology, Inc. (CCAT) is a 501(c)3 non-profit corporation that works to strengthen technology-led economic competitiveness via collaboration with industry, government, and academia. CCAT facilitates collaborative efforts to enhance the capabilities of current and emerging industries. We focus on strengthening existing companies, developing a world class work force, and leading innovation and enterprise creation. CCAT was incorporated in May 2004 under a federally sponsored grant to develop a national center of excellence that addresses both military and civilian industrial needs.
Job Description: Under the supervision of the Director for Energy Initiatives, the Energy Specialist is responsible for supporting activities of the Energy Program, including, but not limited to, the following:
· Assist in the development, implementation, and operation of core elements of the Energy Program
· Assist with administration of the Center for Energy Solutions and Applications, including the review of potential opportunities for the application of advanced distributed energy technologies
· Conduct or direct research and analysis for studies relative to projects and policies for energy development
· Develop reports and presentations
· Develop and maintain databases
· Identify and pursue collaborative projects on sustainable energy
· Participate in meetings, workshops, and events to disseminate information and technical assistance to target audiences
· Assist in the development of proposals in response to funding opportunities
· Identify and/or develop external resources to meet program goals.
Job Requirements:
· Understanding of energy issues including project development, environmental resource management, and government policy
· Excellent skills for articulate and accurate writing
· Good presentation and organizational skills
· Must possess excellent communication and interpersonal skills
· Proficiency with computer and multimedia technology is required
· Must fulfill ITAR citizenship requirements.
Education and experience:
· Bachelor's degree in Environmental Science, Engineering, Planning, Economics, or related field required. Master's Degree or experience in the field of energy management preferred.
