Energy Contract Administrator (TX)
Position Title: Contract Administrator Position Description:Provides contract support to marketers and traders for natural gas transportation and storage. Maintains and updates automated and manual risk management systems and Contract Database(s) for management information and status-tracking. Monitors and administers contracts and tariffs for compliance purposes and timely exercise of optionalities and renewals. Performs research and analysis in support of marketers and traders, and interfaces with other departments in support of billing, trade capture, scheduling and regulatory reporting. The duties and responsibilities of the position will include: · Negotiate electronic bulletin board, pipeline and gas storage agreements, and other operational gas agreements with counterparties within established parameters.· Provide assistance in assigned contract area(s) by developing and maintaining an understanding of applicable legal and operational requirements, fee structures, penalties and relevant market issues.· Translate negotiated terms, conditions and pricing into contract language.· Maintain and update automated and manual risk management systems and Contract Database(s) for management information and status-tracking.· Maintain communication with internal marketing and trading staff and counterparties to ensure timely, accurate contract development; maintain accurate status records.· Provide responsive administrative support to marketers and traders, and other Company personnel.· Assist with evaluation of individual transaction terms and conditions to ensure applicability, feasibility, and accuracy.· Protect the Company’s rights and minimize exposure to liabilities and risks through timely, accurate and efficient contract administration. Minimum Qualifications:· Two years’ direct experience in the negotiation of operational gas agreements such as pipeline, storage, and bulletin board contracts.· Two years’ direct experience in and knowledge of contract administration requirements relative to the natural gas market and/or natural gas pipelines, or comparable experience.· Working knowledge of the principles of business and contract law.· Ability to analyze and help resolve technical contract issues and problems, and to effectively manage conflicting priorities.· Proficiency with database management and Microsoft Word and Excel applications.· Strong oral and written communication skills and effective negotiation skills.
