Position Description:

 

Work directly for a stable mid-size engineering company, in a modern metropolitan area, at the foot of the beautiful Rocky Mountains.  Behrent Engineering has developed a reputation for excellence in providing comprehensive engineering services since 1962.  We have many senior level engineers, and desire to share our knowledge and experience with a special person for the next generation.  We work for well-known industrial clients who depend upon our skills “when it has to work”.  The ideal candidate will be energetic, responsible, and have demonstrated talent in the design and analysis of industrial power distribution systems.

 

Requirements: BSEE or equivalent degree from an accredited engineering or physical science curriculum. Professional Engineering registration. 8-20 years experience working with industrial power systems.  This includes design and analysis of medium and low voltage power distribution, specification of electrical equipment such as switchgear, MCC’s and transformers, load analysis, short circuit analysis, conductor sizing and specification, raceway sizing, routing, and specification, protective device coordination, and system commissioning. Working knowledge of National Electrical Code, especially articles 210, 215, 230, 240, 250, 310, 430, and 450. Will work in a team environment to develop 1-line diagrams, electrical room layouts, wiring diagrams, electrical plan drawings, panel schedules, lighting plans. etc. Must have good verbal and written communication skills and be able to interface directly with the client. Must be computer-literate and comfortable using Microsoft Office software. Be willing and able to travel out of state for client meetings, plant electrical surveys, construction observation, and commissioning support.

Desirable:

  Experience with computer-based power systems analysis software, such as SKM Power*Tools, EDSA DesignBase, Easy-Power, AmpCalc, etc. Experience with arc-flash studies and evaluations. Experience with industrial control systems, such as Rockwell Automation ControlLogix PLC systems and HMI software.
