ENERGY MANAGER Wilmington, MA Office JOB DESCRIPTION: Tetra Tech NUS is seeking Energy Engineers/Managers to support our growing carbon management and alternative energy business line. This position will involve providing energy management services to federal, state, or privately-owned commercial/industrial facilities. Job functions will include developing facilities energy efficiency improvements, developing distributed generation opportunities, developing renewable energy projects, providing energy training, performing design reviews, analyzing energy and utilities data, recommending improvements to utility procurement and operations, and related duties. The candidate will identify energy conservation opportunities and help facilitate the implementation of projects, initiatives, and programs that reduce energy consumption and demand, save money, and help the environment. The candidate will augment existing customer capabilities, work with both the customer and Tetra Tech in a team framework, and be an on-site action agent to facilitate energy and cost savings. This position requires knowledge of utility information systems, energy management technologies and metering; excellent verbal and written communication skills, analytical, interpersonal, and presentation skills; proficiency with personal computers and related word processing, spreadsheet, and database applications. This position will also provide support for marketing and business development pursuits for carbon management, alternative energy, and green building projects located across the country. EDUCATION AND/OR EXPERIENCE: Bachelor’s or Master’s degree in energy-related field plus 2 or more years of relevant experience. Salary commensurate with education and years of experience. Experience with energy auditing, project development, life-cycle cost analysis, commissioning, and building/system optimization is a plus. Certified Energy Manager (CEM) or Leadership in Energy and Environmental Design (LEED) certification is a plus. Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public. MATHEMATICAL SKILLS: Ability to work with basic engineering and mathematical concepts and principles, including engineering economics and life-cycle costing. REASONING ABILITY: Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists. Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form.
