ECONOMIST - PLANNER I - II (Load Forecasting)

Tri-State is a Denver based progressive and rapidly growing non-profit consumer owned wholesale supplier of electric power to forty-four distribution cooperatives in Colorado, Wyoming, Nebraska and New Mexico.  With over 1100 employees, Tri-State operates and maintains fossil fuel power plants with owned coal-fired capacity of 1826 megawatts, gas turbines with 526 megawatts of capacity, and over 5000 miles of high voltage transmission lines.

 

Position is located at HQ - Westminster, Colorado

 

Responsible for assisting in the preparation of short- and long-range load forecasts and for assisting with responses to information requests.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Requirements listed below are for Economist-Planner II. Applicants with less experience will be considered for the Economist-Planner I position.)

 Bachelor's degree in Economics, Agricultural Economics, Statistics, or related discipline with heavy emphasis on education and/or experience.

 Two and one half years of economics, statistics, mathematics, computer programming or other related quantitative methods experience with electric utility experience preferred..

 General knowledge of and experience in statistical analysis and econometrics is required.

 Ability to maintain effective working relationships.

 Ability to communicate effectively, both verbal and written.

 Willingness to travel as required. (Possession of valid driver's license or ability to obtain.)

 Must be able to demonstrate that he/she can perform all of the essential functions of the position.
