Drafter/Designer

The Drafter/Designer will be responsible for the design and drafting of models and detail drawings from basic to more complex. May also be required to produce layouts of new and existing equipment based on design concepts provided by engineering.

CAD Modeling/Drafting - Understands and uses parametric functionality of CAD software as required. Builds simple models and assemblies and creates fabrication and assembly drawings from the 3D models. Can create specific detail and auxiliary views and dimension and detail drawings that are clear and concise and are in agreement with company and industry standards. Re-uses existing design concepts where possible.
Understands and follows D-R practices and process documents to create drawings and models. Minimizes checking requirements by including the correct information on drawings before sending to checker. Reviews designs and drawings for accuracy and fit with mating parts. Implements applicable standards (specifications and operation procedures) on new and revised models and drawings. Meets assigned task requirements in a timely manner, with minimal error. Identifies problem models and drawings and takes appropriate action to correct them.

AAS or AOS drafting degree required with a minimum of six (6) years related experience in drafting.

Unigraphics, Team Center (iMAN), and Microsoft Office. BCT Raster Editing a plus. Other required skills: UG Part Modeling. Ability to produce 2-D/3-D layouts and/or detail part drawings, Item Master/Bill of Material Creation. Unique or Special Requirements: Ability to work in team environment, good verbal and written communication skills.
