Change the world with Idealab.             The Company:   eSolar is developing large utility-scale solar power plants to cleanly and cost-effectively generate electricity on a massive scale. Our advanced technologies allow solar electricity to be produced at rates competitive with conventional fossil fuel generated electricity.    Job Description: Work with System Engineering to ensure system and subsystem specifications are properly defined.  Work with design engineering team, quality control team and other cross-functional teams during the design phase of heliostats and other products to insure robust design and cost-effective manufacturing.  This includes active participation in the design process and thorough review of all part and assembly drawings.  Oversee Design for Manufacture functions throughout the design process. Qualifications: Ten to twenty years experience in high volume manufacturing of mechanical assemblies, working with Asian and / or Global Contract Manufacturers. Â·  Well versed in implementing Design for Manufacture principles and best practices.·  Knowledge and experience taking a new project from prototype development phase into global contract manufacture factories for ramp-up to full steady-state mass production phase.  ·  Experience in setting up manufacturing production / assembly lines with a variety of operations, includingo Stampingo Machiningo Weldingo Bendingo castingso metal and plastic extrusiono assembly·  Established history of selection and oversight of contract manufacturers domestically and overseas, including quality control and continuous improvement techniques.·  Excellent computer skills including CAD and manufacturing application software.·  Firsthand knowledge of Project Development Team Management.·  Experience developing detailed manufacturing process flow diagrams.·  Ability to train, instruct and motivate Global Contract Manufacturers production staff project teams.·  Global travel for pilot, preproduction and production launch.·  Good written and verbal communications skills.·  Engineering degree a plus, but not required.·  Multilingual a plus, but not required. Responsibilities: Â·  Establish and manage eSolar’s manufacturing engineering team.·  Develop test processes and procedures for in-process and final test points and/or mechanical measurement checkpoints.·  Institute manufacturing reliability test processes.·  Create manufacturing / production processes and procedures and detailed production assembly flow diagrams as required.·  Work with Quality Assurance team to establish acceptable inspection and measurement criteria for each manufactured component.·  Assist in the supplier selection process of manufactured products domestically and internationally.·  Participate in Material Review Board and Change Review Board meetings.·  Develop cost effective packaging systems and methods for transporting finished goods from CM to eSolar’s Installation sites.·  Other responsibilities as required.  INTERESTED CANDIDATES SHOULD SUBMIT THEIR RESUME AND SALARY HISTORY TO:  eSolar Careers            An Equal Opportunity Employer    About IdealabWhat We DoOur Working EnvironmentBenefitsCareer FAQsMore Job Openings at Idealab
