Director/Manager, Internal Audit

Calpine owns, leases and operates integrated systems of fuel-efficient natural gas-fired and renewable geothermal power plants. Calpine is currently seeking a well qualified individual for the Manager, Internal Audit.  This position will manage and perform audit projects for Calpine. The Audit Manager is also responsible for preparing reports and communicating audit results to management. Essential Duties and Responsibilities:  Administer the Calpine Audit function at the Corporate Headquarters. Establish and maintain effective working relations and liaise with local management and operational personnel.  Monitor and evaluate the work performed by Calpine's senior and staff employees. Present audit findings both orally and in writing to management and operational personnel.  Identify factors causing deficient conditions and recommend an appropriate course of action to improve the conditions, including special surveys and audits.   Provide input into the Corporate Risk Assessment process as required by the Vice President.  Schedule and manage multiple engagements while performing complex audit projects or sections.  Prepare Sr. Management and Board level presentations with limited input and guidance. Able to perform management requests, special projects and hotline level reviews for Internal Audit.  Recruit, train and mentor Internal Audit Staff employees.  Operational understanding of COSO framework and SOX key control models.  Qualifications Qualifications: 8-10 years experience in Accounting. Experience in electric power industry.
