Job ID: 14775Location: Atlanta, GADepartment: 1426-Employee BenefitsRelocation Provided: YesEducation Required: Bachelors DegreeExperience Required: 7 - 10 YearsPosition Description: Basic Function:Plans and directs employee benefit plans and programs for active employees and retirees; ensures compliance with regulations.Representative Duties and Responsibilities:• Leads the development of long term benefits strategies as part of AGL’s total value proposition• Establishes strong internal working relationships with HR peers and business leaders• Delivers best-in-class customer service through staff as well as client-facing vendors.• Ensures programs and delivery are both effective and efficient when considered from all important perspectives.• Originates and oversees design, implementation, and administration of health, dental, life, and accident & disability insurance plans; 401(k) employee savings plan; defined-benefit pension plan. • Ensures regulatory compliance for benefit-related plans and programs (e.g., HIPAA, ERISA, DOL, IRS, FMLA, PBGC, State of Georgia, company auditors).• Directs vendor selection for requests for proposals (RFPs); oversees vendor management. • Directs the development of communications to employees and retirees regarding benefit issues (e.g., changes, additions) with Corporate Communications department.• Participates in development of labor union negotiation strategies and plans for benefit-related issues.• Prepares and administers operating budget according to the general business plan and benefit plan delivery. Monitors budget variances. Provides explanations on variances and takes appropriate action.• Manages staff selection, development and retention. Establishes and monitors work goals and objectives. Coaches, provides feedback and evaluates performance of staff.• Follows organizational policies and procedures and ensures staff is in compliance.Disclaimer: This information describes the general nature and level of work performed by employees in this job.
