Designer III - Electrical

It all starts here, with you.This Electrical Designer position will design and review manual and electronic detailed drawings, such as wiring diagrams, design change packages, layout drawings, and the most complex mechanical and construction drawings. This position acts as a technical expert for the design section, and coordinates and directs the work of other Designers. This is not part of a job series.performs assignments designed to develop work knowledge, skills and abilities requiring application of policies, procedures, techniques and other criteria in carrying out all aspects of the job performs routine work assignments but over time will demonstrate the ability to perform more difficult work assignments,works under established policies and procedures to meet set schedules and system or program requirements,continues to develop the knowledge, skills and abilities to reach a higher level of proficiency and work complexity.Two positions will be filled as electrical designers. Level will be determined based on experience of candidate.QualificationsKnowledge of mechanical, structural, and electrical engineering design drafting principles.Knowledge of applicable regulations, related codes, and standards.Knowledge of company design and operating standards.Abilities: to maintain and update DOT class location maps; to plan and schedule work independently; to lead and teach draftspersons; to size and design structural steel and reinforced concrete components; to complete designs for large and/or complex systems; to develop new applications within the AutoCAD system.Strong AutoCAD skills.Strong math skills including geometry and trigonometry required to perform complex calculations.Excellent communication skills.
Preferred: Associates in Drafting & Design or Engineering Technology or Mechanical Drawing

Test Required:

Certification and Other Qualifications:
Applicants for Gas Transmission and Gas Delivery positions are not subject to EEI Technician (TECH) testing requirements.
