Cost Engineerr
Environmental Engineering and Program Support seeks a dedicated, dynamic, and innovative individual to join its management team. Strong organizational, leadership, interpersonal and decision-making skills are essential. To succeed in this position the right candidate must be self-motivated, resourceful and articulate. This individual will possess a “can-do” attitude, has a clear sense of accountability and understands what it takes to meet the customers’ needs. Experience and expertise in engineering design and construction of substation and Steam Facilities is essential. Strong oral and written communications skills are required. Requires a Bachelor's degree in Engineering. Computer/mainframe proficiency is required.
Senior Engineer (2H): Must have 8 years experience in preparing and developing either electrical, mechanical or civil cost engineering analysis for either substation or generating station related projects.(PE License preferred).
Engineer: (2L) Must have 3 years experience in preparing and developing either electrical, mechanical or civil cost engineering analysis for either substation or generating station related projects.
Assemble historical data based on actual costs of the projects. Perform time and motion studies from actual field observations and by inspector’s daily log sheet. Analyze market conditions of labor, materials and equipment in the New York City area. Update labor, material and equipment data in the cost estimating database. Monitor industry trends and make recommendations to the cost estimators. Meets with engineering, construction and the Bid Check Group to collect and share the cost information. Must have experience in the use of estimating computer applications and databases, preferably in Con Edison’s estimating system, CEES.
Must be able to travel to field locations and wear the appropriate PPE as required. Requires a valid drivers license.
