Exelon is currently looking for a Maintenance & Technical Training Manager at our Services and Training Center, located in Wilmington, IL. PRIMARY PURPOSE OF POSITION Promotes and supports the creation of policy, definition of processes, development of programs and deployment of procedures regarding fleet maintenance or technical training programs. Assesses and evaluates the conduct of training activities at the sites including the review and implementation of plans to address gaps. PRIMARY DUTIES AND ACCOUNTABILITIES Provides governance of the standardization and development of training programs in maintenance and technical, or non-accredited disciplines; includes mechanical, electrical, and instrument maintenance, maintenance supervisor, radiation protection, chemistry, and engineering support personnel. Provides oversight of the standard training programs to ensure consistent implementation, consistent application of the systematic approach to training, sharing of lessons learned and implementation of best practices throughout the fleet. Oversees development of plans to address training areas for improvement based on observation of plant activities, review of station and external assessments, review of plant performance indicators, specific performance issues and peer group interactions. Oversees and/or supports station and fleet activities in the areas of business plan initiatives, project management, Emergency Preparedness duties and special projects. Provide support and oversight of accreditation needs, including comprehensive self-assessments, validating accreditation self-assessment reports, accreditation team visit preparations and accreditation challenge boards. Coordinates peer/working groups in areas of cognizance and promotes teamwork and collaboration between training and the line departments. Performs supervisory duties for assigned personnel. POSITION SPECIFICATIONS BS/BA in a technical discipline or education/training 10+ years of professional supervisory/management experience with 3+ years of professional supervisory/management experience in the implementation of training programs 3+ years of technical background in respective discipline Experience on INPO accreditation or evaluation teams, benchmarking and peer assessment teams. Knowledge of and experience with the systematic approach to training (SAT) Effective written and oral communication skills POSITION SCOPE Provides standardization oversight and project management of designated accredited nuclear training programs for Exelon. Work closely with line manager peers across Exelon to align standardization strategy and policies and interfaces with external and industry organizations. Participate in and provide self-assessment oversight of accredited programs to ensure consistent program execution. Fulfills managerial responsibilities for assigned staff. Participates as a key member of the nuclear training leadership team. Involves periodic travel to the east and west Exelon nuclear facilities. Preferred: MS/MA in a technical discipline or education/training 5+ years of technical background in respective discipline 4+ years of instructional experience Previous experience in site training accreditation renewal Substantial experience in leading teams from multiple organizations in accomplishing diverse tasks and assignments.
