OCCUPATION: Project Management National Grid is recognized as a leader in the Utilities and Energy industry, offering excellent career and growth opportunities! This is an excellent opportunity for an experienced and motivated Coordinator in our Distribution Design department who consistently seeks personal challenges and professional rewards, you will oversee external Design Consultants responsible for delivery of Electric Distribution and Gas design projects, administering the terms and conditions of a Master Service Agreement to provide external design services, developing a design QA/QC program that will ensure delivery of complete, accurate, and timely design packages, providing technical support to external design firms with regard to design related issues. Must have specific design and construction knowledge of overhead, underground, URD, DOT, and telecommunications work.  Must be proficient in all work management applications (Storms/Aces/GIS), developing strategic alliances with multiple Design and Construction vendors and support these initiatives by leveraging new technologies, applications, and work practices.  In addition to working closely with the Distribution Design / Operations Support groups to identify long-term design and construction requirements, ensuring that adequate external design resources are available to meet these requirements, working with the Planning and duling group to maintain a rolling, 12-18 month design and construction schedule, representing the Construction & Maintenance Services group at various planning and scheduling meetings both internally and externally. Job Qualifications:· Bachelor’s Degree in Electrical Engineering with a proven ability to exercise good Project Management skills.· Five to ten years of T & D Engineering or Operations experience with particular knowledge of design, procurement, contract, and performance strategies.· Proficient in the use of various Project Management software such as MS Project, Primavera, STORMS/GIS, Peoplesoft.· Exhibit sound strategic thinking capabilities and creative problem solving abilities.· Well developed communication, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.·  Ability to read, write and comprehend construction documents and conceptual designs. Please be aware that this position will ultimately be moving to our new location in Waltham, MA; this move is anticipated in summer 2009.   COMPANY: National GridLOCATION: Westborough, MA 01582JOB STATUS/TYPE: Full Time, EmployeeINDUSTRY: Energy and UtilitiesWORK EXPERIENCE: 5+ to 7 YearsCAREER LEVEL: Experienced (Non-Manager) COMPANY: National GridREFERENCE CODE: NE-2623 (TH) We recognize people as our most valuable asset.
