Ernst & Young is developing a Climate Change and Sustainability practice in order to respond to the growing need of guidance by our clients in this area. Greenhouse gas regulations are being introduced in Canada, and will be a significant driver in our market. We are currently advising a number of large Canadian companies in this area, and are providing assurance services on sustainability reports and greenhouse gas inventory emission schedules. We are looking to expand our team of professionals focused on providing high value, independent, trusted advice to our clients as they transition to a Carbon constrained economy. Our clients include many of today's leading global companies, innovative growth companies and other Publicly Accountable Enterprises.

Responsibilities:
Working in a team environment, assist clients in their efforts to identify, measure and appropriately manage the business and reporting risks that they face as they transition their organizations to respond to changing government environmental and greenhouse gas regulations.
Identify/communicate trends, developments, and key performance drivers relevant to the client. Demonstrate a deep understanding of the client's industry and marketplace.
Use technology to continually learn, share knowledge with team members, and enhance service delivery. Maintain an educational program to continually develop skills. Maintain cooperative relationships with other engagement teams. Monitor the engagement team's progress against the plan and alter it when needed.
Support client relationships, business development and account management leadership. Represent the practice in management forums and support the rapid, profitable growth of the business as a member of the management team
To qualify for this highly visible position with excellent potential for career advancement, candidates must have:
*Professional presence with the ability to quickly establish personal credibility and demonstrate expertise
*Ability to analyze complex or unusual issues in the context of client engagements and deliver insightful and pragmatic solutions.
*Ability to undertake environmental and social audits (e.g. GHG and sustainability report assurance)
*Advanced written and verbal communication skills.
*A dedication to teamwork
*Ability to take a pragmatic approach to issues that underpin client relationships while demonstrating and living the firm's values
*A graduate degree in engineering, environmental science and/or other appropriate academic major is desirable; additional background in business administration an asset but not required
*2-4 years of experience in the sustainability field (e.g. environmental consultant/auditor, environmental engineer, corporate responsibility consultant).
*Previous experience for a public accounting firm or consulting practice, or particular business/industry experience is also desirable; experience in GHG quantification/verification
*Strong project management skills
*Oil & Gas, energy, forestry andmining industry experience is strongly desirable
