Civil/Structural Engineer
Position Description – Civil / Structural Engineer
Altran Solutions an experienced civil/structural engineer to join our engineering team. The successful candidate will support utility type projects, ie power plants, or power delivery systems. You will play an integral part in technical marketing and business development to expand existing and develop new clients. The position involves:
• Performing of structural analysis and design of steel and concrete systems.
• Performing and checking technical calculations.
• Generating computerized models and analysis.
• Acting as a technical lead and a customer liaison for various projects.
• Developing business proposals.
• Preparing technical reports and presentations for clients.
Qualifications
• A minimum of B.Sc. in civil engineering/applied mechanics and 10 years of related
experience.
• Experience should be in the electric utility or other related area.
• Development of design sketches.
• Working knowledge of AISC, ASCE, ACI, UBC, IBC and other engineering codes.
• Strong understanding of structural behavior including elastic, plastic, large
deformation, and other nonlinear behavior.
• Working knowledge of finite element methods.
• Ability to manage multiple projects and meet deadlines.
• Demonstrated ability to perform diversified tasks.
• Strong written and verbal communications skills required.
• Strong project management and organizational skills
• Professional Engineering (PE) registration desirable
