Business Development Manager - US Market

Under the supervision of the Vice-President of Business Development, the “Business Development Manager” is responsible for meeting objectives with respect to sales, profitability and the growth of the company’s business in the United States.  He is responsible for establishing and maintains customer relationships with key accounts.  He participates in the writing and application of the department’s development plan and company marketing strategies, the introduction of new services and the penetration of new markets.  He provides members of the division and upper management all relevant information relative to the nature of market evolution, the competition as well as existing talent potential of clientele.  He/she prepares service offers (simple and complex), and performs necessary administrative tasks to update and enter relevant data into an internal project management software program.Primary Responsibilities:· Ensure the attainment of objectives with respect to growth and profitability of our business in the United States by promoting our extended service offering to the market which will be essentially the U.S. based wind development community· Participate in the development and lead the implementation of:o A business development plano A marketing strategyo Strategies concerning new services and the penetration of new markets· Update parameters of market definition and evolution· Ensure a proactive scrutiny of the market and the competition· Develop market intelligence in client organizations· Participate in a number of missions per year to existing and/or potential clients and trade shows· Identify and establish customer relationship with key decision makers at targeted organizations· Present and offer the company’s complete service offering· Prepare and/or supervise the preparation of service offers adapted to the needs of the market· Ensure the continuous updating of marketing documents for the US market· Coordinate communication and promotional activities for the UA market· Open projects in the internal project management software program· Prepare and update order pipeline data· Analyze sales reportsRequirements:Education and/or experience:· University degree in Science or Engineering· Ten to fifteen years of experience in sale of scientific-orientated professional servicesQualifications:· Good technical knowledge or ability to quickly grasp key concepts pertaining to the wind industry and, more specifically, the consulting services associated therewith· Excellent command of Office series software, especially Excel and Word· Excellent writing and communication skills· Excellent knowledge of each of the phases of the sales cycle of professional servicesDesired Qualities:· Strategic mindset, structured methodical approach, creativity and rigor· Sociability and diplomacy· Self-starter· Ability to work alone ( initially) and thrive within an environment of limited supervision· Negotiating skills and ability to convince· Informal leadership skills· Analytical, with sense of synthesis· Attention to aesthetic detail and strict presentation guidelines· Understanding of clients’ need· Ability to give public presentations· Ability to build and maintain strong customer relations at different levels of organizations· Listening skills· Excellent learning ability· Resistance to stress and ability to prioritize and meet deadlines· Existing established relationships with wind developers would be a definitive plusNeed to travel:  Regular travel throughout the United States and occasional travel to CanadaInitial training program:  The selected individual wil be willing to spend several weeks in Montreal for extensive training on our services and methodologies at the beginning of the employment.Salary:  To be discussed (base and variable compensation)Workplace:  Potential for home office work or company’s office in the greater Milwaukee area MRINetwork, one of the world's largest search and recruitment organizations, has over 1,000 offices in more than 35 countries.
