OCCUPATION: Equipment Install/Maintain/Repair National Grid has opening for Automotive/Truck Technicians within our Fleet Maintenance Department, in Malden MA. The successful candidate will be able to diagnose, repair and perform preventative maintenance on gasoline/diesel company fleet vehicles including cars, trucks, construction equipment and auxiliary components in accordance with manufacturers’ specifications and perform all types of minor, major and overhaul repairs. Candidates must be able to adhere to manufacturer’s warranty policies and procedures and to all local, state, and corporate environmental laws, rules and regulations. Other responsibilities include conducting state safety inspections, using computerized fleet system to enter all work, maintain a safe work environment, and having knowledge to operate and safely use all garage tools and testing equipment. Candidates must also be able to perform simple fabrication and electric and gas welding, as well as independently analyzing and safely resolving problems related to overall fleet maintenance. Job Qualifications:· Must have high school degree/automotive vocational training or equivalent· Minimum of 4 years experience as a fleet maintenance technician· Must hold the following ASE certificates within twelve (12) months of entering this classification:  Medium/Heavy Truck: Gasoline Engines (T1), Diesel Engines (T2), Drive Train (T3), Brakes (T4), Suspension and Steering (T5), Electrical/ Electronic Systems (T6), Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning (HVAC) (T7), and Preventive Maintenance Inspection (PMI) (T8). E3 Auxiliary Power Systems Install/Repair Specialist· Must have ability to diagnose and correct all vehicle systems (including but not limited to: fuel injection, electronic Ignition, ABS, Diesel electronic engine controls, etc.)· Applicant must have an unrestricted license to operate a motor vehicle issued within the state where he/she resides; must have the ability to operate company-owned vehicles and· Applicants will need to obtain a valid CDL license and DOT card.· Ability to satisfactorily perform clerical duties and utilize a PC as related to fleet mechanic duties.· Must supply own standard and metric tools and a secured toolbox. Hand tools must meet the standards of the automotive/truck trades and be appropriate to perform the duties of the position· Must be able to lift heavy equipment and materials at 75 lbs. regularly and 100 lbs. occasionally.· A valid U.S. Environmental Protection Agency Refrigerant Technician’s Cert for R134A is desired  Minimum Wage: $27.93Schedule: Monday thru Friday 2:30PM-10:30PM .Must be able to work extra/irregular hours including shifts  Job award is contingent upon the candidate successfully passing the EEI CAST test and written and practical department entrance exam.
