Auditor I

Tucson Electric Power Company is seeking an individual to perform audits of Company internal financial activities, internal operational activities, joint‑venture projects, and subsidiary activities, including overseeing joint-venture projects.  This individual will also organize and facilitate control & risk self-assessment workshops, resulting in control documentation for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

 

Position-Related Responsibilities:

·  Performs internal financial audits to assure the Company's assets are properly recorded and that routine financial transactions are accurately reflected in the accounting records.

·  Performs internal operational audits of other departmental procedures and activities to determine whether these operat­ing procedures and activities are achieving effective and desired results.

·  Oversees and performs audits of joint‑venture projects to evaluate and determine if operating procedures and accounting practices are in conformance with operating agreements and other related contracts.

·  Performs audits of the Company's subsidiary activities.

·  Writes audit reports of findings and recommendations for corrective action and/or improvements, as appropriate.

·  Reviews the progress, findings, and recommendations of audits and audit reports with audited organizations where appropriate.

·  Maintains working papers for each audit which document the work performed, conclusions reached, and any findings.

·  May assist in developing computer‑aided internal auditing procedures and programs.

·  Organizes and facilitates Control & Risk Self-Assessment workshops for compliance with Sarbanes-Oxley Act.

·  Assist in developing and delivering training in Control & Risk Self-Assessment.  Trains staff and Company personnel in a variety of audit-related subjects.

·  May perform consulting and other audit activities as requested.

 

Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

 

Auditor I

·  College degree with Accounting major or significant accounting course work, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·  Excellent communication skills, written and verbal.

·  Ability to meet deadlines, time budgets, and work multiple tasks under pressure.

·  Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

·  Comfortable using the Internet.

·  Typing.

 

Auditor II

·  College degree with Accounting major or significant accounting course work, or CPA certification, plus two or more years of audit‑related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·  Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.  Facilitation experience preferred.

·  Ability to meet deadlines, time budgets, and work multiple tasks under pressure.

·  Knowledge of internal control methods and techniques.

·  Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.

·  Interviewing and flowcharting skills.

·  Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

·  Comfortable using the Internet.

·  Typing.

 

Sr. Auditor

·  College degree with Accounting major or significant accounting course work, or CPA certification, plus four or more years’ audit-related work experience, or equivalent combination of education and experience.

·  Excellent communications skills, written and verbal.  Facilitation experience required.

·  Ability to meet deadlines, time budgets, and work multiple tasks under pressure.

·  Knowledge of internal control methods and techniques.

·  Knowledge of Generally Accepted Accounting Procedures and Generally Accepted Auditing Standards.

·  Interviewing and flowcharting skills.

·  Lead and direct audit engagements

·  Proficient with Data analysis auditing tools 

·  Reviewing working papers

·  Proficient with Microsoft Office software.

·  Comfortable using the Internet.

·  Typing.
