Associate Project Manager - Pump and Motor Projects

This qualified individual will be responsible for: Utilizing approved Project Management processes in accordance with the AREVA NP Project Management Office guidelines to execute low-risk projects of existing proven technology/methods, such as Reactor Coolant Pump and Motor refurbishment projects. Develop work breakdown structures, schedules, and resource loading/planning, for Pump and Motors projects. Will provide financial reporting and analysis of projects and provide feedback to Management and Customers on financial status. Interfaces with Engineering and other project support personnel as needed to ensure project deadlines and milestones are being met. Manages the client, acting as focal point for communications during the project and ensuring an effective business relationship. Manages the invoicing and cost-tracking/margin and schedule performance of contracts. Manages overall budget for project and updates project cost reporting as appropriate. Typical Projects Your Group May Work On Refurbishment of large contaminated pumps such as reactor coolant pumps. Refurbishment of auxiliary pumps or motors from Nuclear plants such as condensate or feedwater. Refurbishment of large electric motors up to 11,000 HP such as reactor coolant pump motors. Design of modifications and upgrades to pumps and motors. Vibration monitoring and balancing of pumps and motors at Lynchburg repair facility and at customer sites. Development of asset management programs to help utilities prioritize testing, monitoring and maintenance of rotating equipment to maximize reliability. P&MS provides four strategic areas of support to the nuclear industry: Refurbishment of Main Coolant Pumps and Motors at the PMSC; Refurbishment of BOP (auxiliary) pumps and motors at the PMSC; Performance of Asset Management planning and evaluations for nuclear utilities; and field services for maintenance of pumps and motors at nuclear plants. Recent contracts include pump and motor refurbishments at the PMSC, new component supply, on site diagnostics, replacement parts, field services, and modification / specialty tooling design and fabrication. All candidates must meet the following minimum requirements in order to be considered for this Associate Project Manager Opportunity. Candidates who exceed minimum qualifications may be considered for a Project Management level position. BS in either a business or technical discipline plus 8-10 years of related project work experience or High School plus 12 -14 years of related work experience. An advanced degree (MBA) or PMP Certification may substitute for 1-2 years of related work experience. Experience with MS Project or other scheduling software, setting up work breakdown structures, scheduling and resource loading. Experience managing budget for a project, and understanding of Critical Path and Earned Value. Ideal candidate will be familiar the design and maintenance of electric motors and/or centrifugal pumps and their application for the nuclear industry, or similar energy producing industry. Competent with MS Office software, especially Word and Excel. The following requirements are desired and will be used to differentiate all candidates who apply for this position. Experience in the design, manufacture or refurbishment of electric motors typically encountered in nuclear power applications, ranging from approximately 50 HP to 11,000 hp. Experience in the design, manufacture or refurbishment of pumps, specifically reactor coolant pumps. Prior Project Management experience of Large Pump and/or Motor projects for nuclear industry.
