Chevron Products Company is accepting online applications for the position of Analyst, Training & Material Development located in Pascagoula, MS through September 23, 2008Overview: Overview of Position: This position is responsible for developing and providing expertise in the areas of effective training, presentation, and material development techniques. Training & Material Development Analysts will analyze existing and developing material, and will provide Refinery-wide coaching and consulting services, primarily to Operations employees (a workforce of approximately 500 employees).Qualifications:Key Job Responsibilities for this position may include but are not limited to: • Serve as consultant and coach in the areas of effective training and presentation techniques. Customers throughout the Refinery include Operations Area Training Coordinators, Designated Unit Trainers in operating areas, and instructors for new Refinery projects. Deliver "Train the Trainer".• Serve as consultant and coach in the Refinery-wide work processes for developing training material and procedures. Coach Subject Matter Expert Material Developers and others in the skills required for correct and effective material development.• Research, and obtain specialized training as needed, to stay abreast of latest developments in effective training techniques.• Analyze, evaluate, and develop curriculum and enhancements for FOTP and operating area training programs.• Audit the Pascagoula EOM for quality and compliance assurance.• Participate in CPDS Refining EOM (Electronic Operating Manual) Best Practice Team activities, and provide guidance for updates to the CPDS Refining EOM Guidebook. Network with, and serve as a resource for, others in Refining to build capability in the areas of training material and procedures development.• Create and maintain standardized templates for training material (including job aids) and procedures.Required (Basic) Qualifications: • Minimum of 3 years experience in delivery and development of course curriculum or subject matter expert level experience in safety, oilfield, or plant operations.• Demonstrated ability to coordinate and facilitate learning events. Experience in gathering information from subject matter experts and developing training plans and materials to meet training needs.• Demonstrated commitment to incident free operation and operational excellence.• Demonstrated ability to work collaboratively with multiple stakeholders across various workgroups. Ability to listen actively and to effectively resolve issues of conflict. • Demonstrated ability to communicate in a clear, concise manner both oral and written communication. • Demonstrated ability to facilitate group discussions and to clarify thoughts and ideas of others. Able to speak effectively before large groups.• Proficient in use of Microsoft Word, Excel, PowerPoint and Outlook. Able to navigate effectively through Chevron's Learning Management System (CLMS).• Demonstrated strong project management and organization skills to handle small as well as large projects. Ability to manage multiple projects with conflicting priorities and deliver projects on time with excellence. Preferred Qualifications: • Experience in petroleum refinery operations is highly desireable.• Bachelor’s degree preferred in Human Resource Development, Instructional Design, Workforce Development.
