Accountant (Plant Accounting)

Responsible for providing technical direction, establishing and maintaining property accounting records and  providing plant accounting information to the internal tax  area, accounting and appropriate external areas such as regulatory and agency requirements.

 

JOB REQUIREMENTS (Requirements listed below are for Accountant III. Applicants with less experience will be considered for the Accountant I or II position.)

  Bachelor's degree in Accounting or closely related discipline.

 Five (5) years of progressive accounting experience in general ledger.  Plant accounting or fixed asset experience preferred.

 Extensive working knowledge of accounting principles and practices, GAAP and reconciliation procedures.

 Knowledge of power plant and transmission facilities operations.

 Experience in utility and RUS accounting, preferred.

 Familiarity with current issues related to local, state and federal regulations, as applicable to accounting, tax and current accounting issues.

 Extensive working knowledge of personal computers, computerized accounting systems, MSOffice, Word and familiarity with report writer applications.
