For more information about Progress Energy, visit the company's Web site at http://www.progress-energy.com/%3c/a> Location: Brunswick Nuclear Plant, Southport, NCJob DescriptionBESS Technical Services - Rapid Response TeamRapid Response Team Roles and Responsibilities:The BESS Technical Services - Rapid Response Team provides day-to-day support to maintenance and operations to ensure safe and reliable operation of the Brunswick Nuclear Plant. This is accomplished by providing technical support for planning and implementation of maintenance activities and by providing Engineering support for schedule stability within the T-12 scheduling process.The personnel assigned to the BESS Technical Services - Rapid Response Team are responsible for the following activities:· Function as the first point-of-contact for resolution of on-line maintenance requests for engineering assistance· Attend the 0615 Daily Conference Call and provide update at the 0700 BESS Daily Meeting.· Function as the first point-of-contact for resolution of work orders on engineering hold. If assistance of other BESS work groups is required, provide coordination of these requests.· Provide day-to-day engineering support of maintenance planning and implementation activities. Examples include:ü Interpreting applicable documents (equipment and installation specifications, maintenance requirements, etc.) in support of maintenance planning activitiesü Assist in the development and approval of rigging, scaffolding, and temporary shielding permitsü Administration of the ENP-54, Pressure Seal Work Permit Program for on-line activitiesü Provide engineering evaluation for repair of non-safety related supports in accordance with Spec 248-107ü Assist in the resolution of procurement of spare or replacement partsü Provide engineering review of Facility Change Packages when requiredü Prepare and approve 0SPP-PIX502, Leak Injection Repair review packages.ü Assist maintenance (as required) in troubleshooting minor equipment problems. Significant troubleshooting activities may require the expertise of system and/or design engineers.ü Provide engineering assistance to maintenance in implementing temporary power installations.ü During refueling outages, the Rapid Response Team provides engineering assistance to the operating unit. As such, the Rapid Response Team personnel are not typically involved with refueling outage activities.ü Develop Engineering Change Packages for selected minor modifications to support emergent issues or other special situations. Determination of whether the engineering change is to be performed by the Rapid Response Team or the BESS Design Unit will be determined on a case-by-case basis by the applicable supervisors.QualificationsBachelor's degree in engineering (not engineering technology program) from an ABET accredited program or a current PE license is required. An international engineering degree will be considered.
