Wireless Design Engineer

Trango Broadband Wireless is looking for engineering personnel to design wireless data solutions. The duties are as follows:

 

1) Design/Verify RF circuitry up to 26 GHz.

2) Support production line and Field/RMA problem resolution.

3) Train Technicians on production line

4) Make design changes to products to accommodate part obsolescence and sourcing problems.

 

 

Responsibilities:

 

1) Create schematics and PCB layouts for IF/RF sections of FDD products and test PCBs using Protel/Altium Design System.

2) Analyze/verify prototype circuits using RF test equipment such as network analyzer, spectrum analyzer, Oscilloscopes and Vector signal analyzer. Produce hard copies of lab results.

3) Assess field/RMA/production failures to determine root cause of problems and propose solutions to problems found to be design related.

4) Support design of RF Factory Test Fixtures.

5) Provide time/cost inputs to scheduling and budgeting activities.

6) Interface with configuration control department to keep engineering drawings current and complete.

7) Interface with mechanical designer to produce test fixture drawings

8) Author and maintain test criteria for circuitry designed.

9) Maintain detailed and organized development notes and lab test results.

10)   Assign tasks for subordinate engineers or lab technician(s).

11)   Report status on project to manager weekly and as needed.

 

 

Minimum Requirements:

 

1) Education: Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering with at least a 3.0 cumulative grade point average.

2) 5 Years RF Design Experience.

3) In depth knowledge of RF concepts and ability to troubleshoot circuitry.

4) Schematic capture and layout experience using Altium or Protel CAD software.

5) Operating knowledge of Spectrum Analyzer, Network Analyzer, Oscilloscope.

6) Familiar with Windows operating systems.

 

Additional Desired Skills:

 

1) Ability to write small programs in C or C++.

2) Familiarity with QAM modulation formats for wireless communications
