Our customer is a Fortune 1000 company that specializes in the telecommunications and defense industry.  Description:  The candidate will be responsible for: • Supporting VoIP system design, system development including platform configuration, integration and test of VoIP systems with FDCA telecommunications infrastructure and voice account provisioning and management for the FDCA enterprise that provides local and wide-area network VoIP, VoIP-PSTN gateway interworking, voice-mail for specified accounts, VoIP solutions capable to scaling to 10K users located at hundreds of remote offices, and VoIP operations support tools. • Secure the FDCA VoIP-based telephony infrastructure against unauthorized intrusions.  • Work network design engineers to address LAN switching, WAN IP/MPLS SLAs, and LAN-WAN boundary elements like session border controllers and other key sources of system performance that impact VoIP service quality.  • Investigate and evaluate alternate design options for the purpose of controlling costs, improving service quality/reliability, and implementing change requests when approved while supporting operations and deployment/provisioning.  Skills and Experience Needed: • Must have earned a bachelors degree in computer science; system, electrical, or computer engineering or related field with 7-9 years of related work required (a masters degree is preferred).  • Active CISCO certifications (CCVP/CCNP/CCDP) are desired.  Important skills include (but are not limited to):  • Experience in engineering WAN telecommunications and LAN network systems that incorporate VoIP service as part of a converged infrastructure including background in design, development, and system integration/test.  • Specific experience with Cisco Unified Call Manager and Unity platforms and branch office VoIP platforms such as Cisco Integrated Service Routers.  • Certifications in network and IP telephony (CCNP/CCVP) highly desired.  • Experience with designs that use either VoIP trunks or PSTN trunks to connect enterprise LAN VoIP with a service provider's PSTN dial-up telephony services.  Understanding of VoIP signaling options and gateway protocols (i.e., H.323, SIP, and MGCP).  • Familiarity with VoIP in context of scalable network architectures with large numbers of remote offices interconnected with each other and corporate offices via WAN IP/MPLS.  • Ability to map system objectives to system architecture elements, quantitative system design requirements and functional requirements. • Experience at developing and documenting system design specifications, service specifications, and system performance specifications.  • Ability to lead and perform trade-off analysis including make v. buy cost analysis and COTS product trade-offs. • Experience with system modeling, simulation and analysis of alternatives that evaluate mission effectiveness, mission unity, and performance.  • Self-directed, motivated, team player, and interpersonal/communications skills very important.Discover all that’s possible with Yoh.
