Job Responsibilities: SUMMARY OF JOB: Performs assembly, startup, diagnostics, repair, and preventive maintenance work as directed by District Service Manager / Region Service Director on Company manufactured, as well as third party manufactured equipment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS: Perform pre-site, startup, repair, preventive maintenance, and field modification of Company manufactured, as well as third party manufactured equipment as assigned by the Customer Care Center. May supervise others on job sites. Complete all administrative responsibilities on all work activities including field service reports, expense reports, preventive maintenance and startup data sheets and daily time card completion. Provide telephone support for customers and Field Service Associates. Must operate within all company published guidelines Demonstrate positive customer relationship building and management skills. Satisfactorily complete assigned product and customer relation skills training courses SECONDARY FUNCTIONS: A. Customer familiarization and Operator Training Class presentations. B. On the job training of Field Service Associates C. May conduct training seminars for Field Service Associates and or approved Service Partners. D. Other duties as assigned by District Service Manager and or Regional Service Director EDUCATION—MINIMUM REQUIRED LEVEL: Associates Degree in electronics, electrical theory or similar discipline desirable and or military training equivalent. EXPERIENCE—MINIMUM REQUIRED: Two to four years of field service repair and customer service with UPS, electrical, electro-mechanical or electronics related equipment required. One to two years experience as a Field Service Associate or equivalent industry experience. Must be proficient at 3 phase single module systems as required by the local District Service Manager. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 1—REQUIRED: 1. Computer literacy with standard business applications 2. Complete competence at utilizing test and diagnostic equipment such as oscilloscope, digital voltmeter, AC clamp meter, loadbanks, and other electronic test devices. 3. Superior customer relations and interaction skills. 4. Fully adept at reading and interpreting schematics, drawings and theory of operations manuals. 5. Thorough understanding of principles of AC and DC power, various AC and DC supply circuit components. 6. Driving and safe vehicle operations skills. 7. Characteristics include self-starter, team player, punctual, personal and professional integrity, trainable, problem solver, organized, professional appearance, flexible, customer oriented, and safety oriented. 8. Capable of reciting and displaying appropriate safety techniques and practices associated with job requirements 9. Ability to write business reports, correspondence, effectively present information and respond to customer questions. KNOWLEDGE AND SKILLS 2—DESIRED BUT NOT ESSENTIAL: D.Physical demands necessary to perform essential functions: 1. Fingering. 2. Grasping. 3. Feeling. 4. Talking. 5. Communications. 6. Hearing. 7. Various customer equipment locations from computer rooms to electrical equipment rooms to outside equipment storage locations. 3. Home office environment for completing paperwork, accomplishing admin requirements and technical documentation familiarization and upkeep.
