Training Specialist

SUMMARY: Responsible for providing professional training staff services and consultation to internal customers. Typical duties might include delivering training, assisting in the development of training materials, evaluating training programs, documenting training conducted, and maintaining records.  The person in this position will also facilitate the new hire orientation program, and participate in project teams to assist in implementing organizational initiatives.

Knowledge:  The following knowledge is required to perform the range of duties and responsibilities listed in the description.  Applicants must be able to cite examples that demonstrate the required knowledge.

• Appropriate use of instructional techniques, tools and methodologies.

• Basic learning theories as applied in the development and delivery of adult training.

• Basic instructional design and development processes.

• Use of computers, peripherals, and software; includes word-processing, creating spreadsheets, sending and  

receiving e-mail, and basic data storage and retrieval.

• Problem-solving techniques.

 

EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE:

Bachelor’s Degree in Occupational Education, Instructional Systems Design, Instructional Technology, Communication, or a closely related field; they would have one or more year’s experience in planning, designing, developing, implementing, evaluating, and coordinating training programs for adult learners.  Candidate must have prior experience training 5S methodologies and Lean manufacturing concepts.  Green Belt certification desired.
