Switchboard Operator/Branch Office Administrator

Join our team and let Graybar work to YOUR advantage!Responsibilities: Direct incoming calls by determining the nature of the caller's business and referring to the appropriate department/individual. Assist Customer Service Department by performing administrative tasks, including: job lot billing to customers, faxing orders and quotations, and providing POD for warehouse shipments. Process customer credits and deductions, tax certificates, and resolve customer billing issues. Perform service functions for the branch, including branch filing and mail, maintaining tax certificate files. Process branch transactions, i.e., returned goods, posting receiving reports, warehouse billing, and cost adjustments. Perform general clerical work including typing, alphabetizing, filing, and mail preparation. Perform other duties as assigned.Qualifications: High school diploma or G.E.D. Prior customer service experience is preferred. Ability to receive customers, clients, and visitors with courtesy at all times. Knowledge of and experience with a multi-line phone system preferred. Broad knowledge of administrative and service functions. Extensive knowledge of computer modes is preferred. Ability to interface with all levels of employees and management. Excellent data entry and organizational skills.Final candidates are subject to a thorough background investigation (education, employment, criminal records review, etc.) and a pre-employment drug screen.
