Supervisor PWA Design

COMPANY OVERVIEW: A leading merchant supplier of secure communications systems & products, avionics & ocean products, training products, microwave components & telemetry instrumentation, space & wireless products. JOB DESCRIPTION:Job Title: Supervisor PWA Design Department:   Reports To:   Manager Mechanical Engineering/ Design SUMMARYUnder direct supervision of the Manager Mechanical Engineering/ Design, the PWA design group supervisor will coordinate and maintain the activities of the printed circuit designers.  ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES  Assist the Manager Mechanical Engineering/ Design in establishing department budgets. Assign printed circuit design teams to projects. Provide direction, technical assistance, and scheduling support to PWA design team activities.Prepare and maintain project budgets. Review and prepare performance and salary reviews.Assist in reviewing and preparing formal project proposals. Assist PWA designers to ensure that they comply with the department procedures.Provide training, assistance, and guidance to PWA designers.Be familiar with all DOD, ANSI, NEC, and UL specifications.Provide interface and designer back up for other departments. Assist with proposal activities.Captures schematics and defines library symbols per electrical engineering guidelines.Prepares detailed layouts of the printed circuit board and establishes all electrical functionality.Prepares all necessary artwork /electronic data required for the complete fabrication of the Printed Circuit Board.Interfaces with PCB manufacturers to resolve any problems related to design.Generates the assembly drawing and prepares parts list IAW customer requirements, to permit parts procurement and assembly.Interfaces with Mechanical and Electrical Engineering to establish physical and electrical parameters to meet packaging requirements.  Other duties may be assigned. QUALIFICATIONS  Knowledge of Navy/Military environmental qualification testing.Knowledge of Mil-Specifications and contracting.Good written and verbal communications skills are required.Capable of handling multiple projects simultaneously.Five years of general computer experience.Experience using PWA design software tools. Working knowledge of ORCAD software is a must, knowledge of PCAD 2000 software is a plus.Must be a U.S. citizen. EDUCATION and EXPERIENCE As minimum, Associate's degree (A.A.) or equivalent from a two-year college or technical school plus specialized technical training.  Seven to ten years general experience directly related to PCB design. Five (5) years minimum supervisory experience.  Great benefits package.
