Sr. Yield Enhancement Engineer

Leading manufacturers of computers, energy efficient appliances, lighting, automobiles, satellites, aircraft and defense systems rely on IR's power management benchmarks to power their next generation products.The Product/Yield Improvement Engineer reports to the Product/Yield Improvement Manager, and supervises a Product/Yield Improvement Technician. The Product Yield Improvement Engineer is primarily responsible for product documentation, yield improvement and assuring manufacturability of devices. Additionally, the Product Engineer is the interface between R&D and the wafer fab and in that capacity provides direction for overall manufacturability. The Product/Yield Engineer also works closely with the Process Module Leaders to improve build ability, capacity, and production within the fab.Major Accountabilities/Results: 1. Travelers are standard, accurate, and current. * Works with process integration engineers to ensure travelers are accurate and unambiguous, update and maintain travelers * Establishes traveler rationalization 2. Yield improvement: * Reviews production data to identify trends and the areas for improvement. * Identifies and solves process and/or device related problems. * Qualifies new process through probe and TP characterization and reliability. * Communicates with vendors for starting material issues. * Updates and maintains Process FMEAs. 3. Production and customer support * Conducts probe and final test (and inspection) disposition of low performing lots. * Reviews and identifies customer return problems and corrective actions. Experience, Skills and Competencies Required; Education Desired:- M.S. or Ph.D. in EE or Applied Physics - Strong background in semiconductor device physics and IC design - 5+ years of experience in process integration and yield enhancement - Good communication skillsGeneral Requirements: Good understanding of MOS device physics and IC Design. Ability to work closely with design engineers and process engineers to ensure device specifications are met. Must have knowledge of Power IC yield improvement methodology and tools.
