Sr. Network Administrator
Center Valley, PA - The Senior Network Administrator is responsible for supporting and maintaining Olympus' Open System Server, Open System SAN, and Active Directory Infrastructure including the implementation of industry best practices for the creations, usage, monitoring and performance tuning policies. He/she will act as the technical team lead for the other Network Administrators. EOE M/F/D/V
* Act as the primary administrator of the MS Active Directory infrastructure at all Olympus locations.
* Recommend architecture of Olympus' local and remote MDFs & IDFs; File & Print solutions to the LAN Operations Manager.
* Act as the primary engineer of Olympus' Open Systems Storage Area Network. This includes configuration, maintenance, monitoring and performance tuning, and working with the LAN Operations Manager on capacity planning and provisioning.
* Research and recommend IT improvements and new technologies of responsible IT disciplines.
* Act as the primary virtualization architect and engineer.
* Review DNS and DHCP configurations.
* Assist the LAN Operations Manager maintain a central repository for necessary configurations, diagrams, and LAN Group inventories.
* Review and recommend Internet monitoring architecture and solutions.
* Review and recommend Antivirus and Patching architecture and solutions.
* Prepare and test LAN Group DR plans on a bi-annual basis.
* Assist other Administrators and LAN Operations Manager regarding tactical solutions from our System Health and Monitoring applications.
* Work with the IT Security Group and LAN Operations Manager to maintain current best practices for server security.
* Assist the LAN Operations Manager with day to day issues.
* Make troubleshooting and configuration decisions based on many variables.
* Devise solutions for complex issues related to Olympus' Open System Server and Active Directory Infrastructure.
* Lead special projects and new technologies research as assigned.
* Provide on-call coverage for Tier Three support 24 by 7.
* Perform other related duties as assigned.
(ONLY QUALIFIED CANDIDATES WILL BE CONSIDERED)
* A degree in Computer Science or Business Computing is preferred. Experience may be substituted on a year for year basis.
* MCSE and other relative certification is desirable.
* Must possess a minimum of 5 years of experience supporting both Windows and Linux servers in a multi-site enterprise environment.
* Extensive analytical and communication skills are required.
* Must be able to work well under pressure and manage multiple high priority projects.
* Experience in a team lead role is desirable.
* Must possess an extensive knowledge of the following:
- Windows AD Directory
- DNS and DHCP services
- TCP/IP networking protocol
- Windows W2K and 2003 operating systems
- Windows Clustering and Load Balancing
* Knowledge of the following is required:
- Red Hat Linux operating systems
- SAN configuration
- Fibre Channel networking equipment
- IIS and Internet Commerce best practices
- SSL Certificates (x.509)
- Cisco or similar switch architecture
- WAN architecture
