Position Overview

The Sr Process Engineer Battery Assembly Engineer will be a key member of team to provide ongoing support and lead process improvement efforts for existing products, plus process definition for new products along with technology transfer from R&D to manufacturing.  This is a process leadership role working with R&D and manufacturing. 

 

Primary responsibilitiesWork with manufacturing to support and improve tabbing, winding, welding and filling processes Work with pilot operation to develop and define process conditions for new products Use of statistical techniques as a tool to improve existing processes and define new processes Plan, execute and analyze experiments Support and qualify product changes Review and analyze data from production and R&D operations. Identify, prioritize areas for process / product improvement; lead effort to implement and monitor changes

Specific Skills/Abilities

The position requires the ability to act as a strong process improvement leader, be a creative problem solver to develop efficient and effective solutions to product needs.  In addition, must also participate as a member of cross functional teams in process / product improvement and troubleshooting.

Education/ExperienceBachelors Degree in Mechanical or Electrical Engineering Five or more years experience in assembly operations for battery manufacturing Track record of successful process improvement leadership / management Demonstrated strong interpersonal skills; including demonstrated strong verbal and written communication skills Demonstrated Project management skills Proficiency with Microsoft Office Suite (word, excel, powerpoint, etc.) is required Ability to work independently with minimal direction, and also as part of team Fluent in English Fluency in Chinese (Mandarin), highly preferred but not required

Although this position is based Watertown, MA; it requires regular travel to manufacturing operations in Asia.
