Sr Financial Analyst

The successful candidate is a team-oriented, Financial Analyst who is an active business partner supporting finance, the business units, operational management and executive management.  Completes financial analysis and reporting, to evaluate and recommend financially sound business actions. Key responsibilities include developing budgets and forecasts, analyzing results, and developing reports and presentations to communicate results. Develop recommendations for actions and execute approved recommendations. Analyze highly complex financial issues and provides financial analysis and recommendations to executive management and department leaders. Build relationship across the team and may act as a mentor within the team.

Responsibilities Develop budgets and forecasts for revenue and departmental expense categories.  Coordinate monthly revenue forecast with business unit leaders.Complete monthly results analysis. Review revenue & expense budget and forecast variances and work with business partners to understand short and long term impacts. Perform multiple, concurrent complex reviews/analysis of revenue, expense and operating results. Completion of quarterly management reporting commentaries on period over period change and budget to actual variance in revenue, operating expense and headcount.Perform complex financial analysis, including sensitivity modeling, of proposed operational programs and business cases to assess the financial viability & associated risk of proposals. Provide financial analysis and counsel for management sizing the impact of resource utilization & change in operational procedures. Review and analyze new processes & procedures including the modifications and process improvement of existing procedures. Recommend corrective courses of action through detailed analysis and take action within defined scope. Support in the design & operation of systems to provide the business results required. Ad hoc analysis and Excel workbook modeling to assist with M&A decision making.Support long range planning process by forecasting future revenue, P&L and balance sheet. Prepare integrated business plans and return on investment for new business opportunities, current product lines, projects and customer proposals.

Knowledge, skills and abilitiesBachelor’s degree in Accounting or Finance. Must have at least 6-8 years of hands on experience in financial analysis and accounting.Strong technical skills in financial analysis and/or accounting with in depth understanding of budgeting and forecasting processes. Position requires a high degree of judgment and analytical thinking with strong problem analysis skills to assess, research, interpret and analyze complicated data. Strong technical systems and process solutions skills – must have excellent Microsoft Excel spreadsheet skills and a proven ability to learn new accounting software.  Familiarity with enterprise systems is a must; knowledge of Oracle 11i/12 a plus.High degree of accuracy and attention to detail with the ability to see the big picture.Experience using and/or implementing a budgeting tool such as Hyperion Pillar or Essbase is a plus.Strong written and verbal communication skills required as well as the ability to interact with a variety of levels of individuals.Ability to work independently within a team environment, manage deadlines and competing priorities. Candidate should be flexible and ready to recommend and implement new processes as well as recommend improvements to existing processes.Able to maintain confidentiality on high-profile assignments, working within time sensitive deadlines, and under pressure.High level of motivation and initiative, effectively elicit cooperation from other groups.
