Sr. Field Service Technician (Northern New Jersey)

GENERAL PURPOSE OF THE POSITION:  Plans and executes service activities on Capstone Micro Turbines and accessories, in support of Authorized Service Companies and directly to end users in support of Capstone’s Factory Direct service programs.

 

ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Provide resolution to critical routine and non-routine system issues in a timely and efficient manner while maintaining the highest level of customer satisfaction.  Performs remedial and scheduled maintenance, and implements Performance Enhancement Programs on Capstone products in order to ensure maximum equipment uptime. Manages assigned customer accounts to ensure optimum customer satisfaction by working towards improvement of service quality (uptime, repair time, response time). Suggest process improvements to work flow resulting in more effective customer serviceDirectly improve quality and reliability by taking ownership of issues and following through until the issue has been fully resolved.May be called upon during non-business hours and must be able to effectively handle technical issues (using prior experience and independent judgment) resulting in total customer satisfactionPerforms Customer Service activities in support of Authorized Service Companies including troubleshooting equipment issues and commissioning. Timely completion of all administrative duties including, but not limited to, time sheets, expense reports, and service call related data reporting.Pre-sale site surveyMay be required to participate in pre-sales activities and selling service agreements. May be required to travel extensively. International travel may be required on occasion.

 

SKILLS AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:

Ability to read and interpret technical data and technical documents including safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions, schematics, blueprints, and procedure manuals.  Understanding of, and working knowledge of, electrical and mechanical systems. Ability to write routine technical reports and correspondence. Ability to speak effectively before customers.  Computer literate in standard MS Office products.

 

EDUCATION AND EXPERIENCE REQUIRED:

A bachelors degree in a technical field and/or equivalent military and work experience.  . Three + years field service experience in a related environment.
