Job Responsibilities: Square D Company is seeking a Tax Specialist to assist with managing the day-to-day IRS audit, assist with the development and administration of transfer pricing policies, and work on various income tax compliance matters, such as the preparation of the yearly transfer price contemporaneous documentation package. Square D Company, and its worldwide affiliates, manufactures electrical distribution and automation control products.Primary responsibilities include, but are not limited to: 1) Transfer Pricing: Assisting in the development and implementation of global transfer pricing policies for both tangible and intangible flows, including preparation of the yearly transfer price contemporaneous documentation package. 2) Federal tax exam management: Manage the day-to-day audit relationship with the IRS, respond to IDR's issued by federal tax auditors; coordinate with internal and external resources as needed. In addition to the primary responsibilities noted above, the successful candidate will also, as necessary:1) Research complex tax legislation and analyze its effect on the Company's overall tax position. 2) Assist with mergers and acquisitions tax due diligence, provide management with effective analysis of the federal, state, and international tax issues related to the acquisition, and provide assistance with corporate restructurings and tax planning initiatives resulting from the acquisitionThe successful candidate will be a self-starter who enjoys working on his/her own and has strong analytical, oral, and written skills. The candidate must possess strong computer skills including demonstrated knowledge of MS Access. The candidate must have the ability to effectively communicate the conclusions reached for assigned tax planning projects, both in writing and orally. These communications may be made to management and outside the tax department, including governmental authorities. In addition, the candidate will be required to keep abreast of current developments in tax law, including new legislation, administrative releases, and court decisions and determine whether such developments will have a significant effect on the Company's overall tax position. The candidate must be able to identify and anticipate tax issues and make viable recommendations concerning these issues to management. Furthermore, the candidate must also have the ability to lead certain projects for the tax department. The ability to juggle many different responsibilities at the same time is essential to the success of this position.The candidate must possess a positive and cooperative attitude. He/she will contribute to the overall success of the tax team by developing a thorough understanding of Schneider Electric methodologies; improving processes; keeping team members informed of work status; challenging traditional procedures used in the past; and attempting to find new approaches. Candidate Profile:• A minimum of 5-7 years of tax experience, with a background in Big 4, large regional accounting firm or Corporate Tax experience; combination of accounting/corporate would be an advantage. • Bachelor's Degree required; CPA and/or MST a plus.
