Brief Overview:

AMX has an opportunity for a Software Quality Assurance Engineer II with 3+ years experience at its facility in Cheney, Washington.  Cheney is located approximately 10 miles west of Spokane, Washington.

You will be working on the development of firmware and configuration and control software for industry leading audio/video switcher/router and converter products. SQA works closely with Development Engineering and is involved in the entire product development cycle from the product requirements phase through the manufacturing and general release of the products. 

In the testing phase, you will be using a variety of manual and automated techniques. Work will entail the use of scopes, waveform analyzers, signal generators, programmable power supplies...  Familiarity with automation tools like Agilent's VEE, National Labs CVI, FIT, or QFTestJUI are a plus.

 

Expectations:

 SQA Engineer II is a third-level QA position, typically requiring 3 - 8 years of experience at SQA or Engineering with sufficient testing as a part of one's job. SQA Engineer IIs are expected to use concepts, QA skills, and department practices and procedures to complete their work and solve a wide range of difficult problems in imaginative and practical ways. Their assignments are diverse in scope and complexity, where initiative and independent judgment are required to search out an appropriate course of action within and outside the context of established policies and procedures. SQA Engineer IIs are expected to work with minimal supervision and to make decisions on non-routine as well as routine matters where established policies and procedures are available.

 

Essential Job Functions:

 Design and develop testing plans and procedures

· Read and digest market and product requirements, offering critical feedback and cross-comparative analysis as appropriate

· Participate in design reviews of the product architecture and provide critical feedback where appropriate

· Create new tests, test plans and reporting documents based on understanding project and product requirements, using department style templates

· Offer critical insight into existing process and aid in there development as neededTest execution and reporting

· Execute existing and new tests while documenting and reporting results

· Write readable and reproducible bugs using our bug tracking tool

· Raise issues of significance to team or team leads, demonstrating reasonable judgmentAutomated test development

· Creates new or extend existing automated test suites as appropriate to their projects

· Develop new or extend existing Automated Testing applicationsSubject area knowledge and expertise

· Is a product subject area expert in the areas where they have primary test responsibility

· Can be called upon in product design process to flesh out issues related to their area of expertise

· Independently pursue continued learning as needed

· Has a highly function knowledge of the test tools and methods for areas where they have primary test responsibility

· Has a highly function knowledge of the departments general procedures and practice and a deeper knowledge of anything specific to their area of primary test responsibility

· Adds material to Development’s online knowledge base for new or changed functionality or methodology for which they had primary test responsibility.

Passed ESD training and stay current with any new developments in the handling ES sensitive material.

 

Requirements: SQA Engineer II

· BA/BS or equivalent education/experience + 3-8 years of QA or Software Development experience
or
MS in Computer Science + 1 - 4 years of QA or Software Development experience

· Demonstrated working knowledge of at least 1 programming language

· Demonstrated ability to handle work of diverse scope and complexity

· Demonstrated experience at making good decisions that have significant impact

· 1+ years of leadership or mentoring experience

· Strong bug finding abilities

· Strong communication skills

· Effectively articulates opinions to bring about change
