Software Quality Analyst

In this position, you will be responsible for designing, implementing and managing the software quality system in a dynamic work environment.  The position reports directly to the Director of Quality, but interfaces primarily with our software development teams in Melbourne and China to ensure quality, schedule, feature, cost requirements are satisfied.

 

The position requires a highly technical individual with a strong background in software quality management and software engineering.  Your responsibilities will include but not be limited to:

 

· Evaluate and define standards to ensure consistency and measureable results.

· Partner to define and implement metrics into all stages of the software lifecycle.

· Conduct formal and informal reviews throughout the design lifecycle using metrics to assess progress and highlight issues.

· Partner with software development team to prioritize bugs and/or feature requests and assess impact to quality/schedule/scope/resource.

· Responsible for documentation and tracking as required for a ISO9001 compliant system including spec generation, process mapping, audits.

· Track project status relative to stated deliverables at each lifecycle stage and report results.

· Role model the quality culture and instill continuous improvement into all phases of the program.

· Failure analysis of customer software returns to root cause and determine corrective action.

 

Required Education/Experience:

 

· BS degree in Computer Science, Computer Engineering or related field

· 4+ years related experience in a software quality management role and at least 2 years in a lead role

· Strong technical knowledge of Windows PC products, architectures, installers, etc.

· Knowledge of industry standard testing techniques and strategies

· Proven ability to influence and manage the performance of teams to get results

· Self starter comfortable with taking initiative to resolve issues and conflict resolution

· Results orientation and sense of ownership are crucial to success

· Direct working knowledge with ISO9001 requirements and compliance
