Position: Software Developer, Lead Software Developer, and Senior Software Developer

Overview: Current Energy, an energy efficiency solutions provider, is seeking individuals with experience in Software Development to be a vital part of a successful team, developing building controls and automation.  The ideal candidate is self-motivated and thrives in a high volume activity based environment.  Positions are available due to company growth

Brief Position Description: Responsible for planning and managing the software development and user interface portion of new products.Primary Duties and Responsibilities (not all inclusive):

·  Integrates software modules with system software and hardware.

·  Performs detailed design and coding for SCADA.

·  Tests software functions, components, and features.

·  Provides technical direction to other engineers, drafters, and technicians during the development stage of projects and serves as technical expert throughout design and implementation of projects.

·  Documents the software design and assists in the creation of user manuals and specs.

·  Creates and updates the user interface.

·  Releases final software products for production.

·  Identifies opportunities to reuse older systems and designs.

·  Provides input to the software architect concerning potential software design issues.

·  Adheres to the chosen system architecture during the software development and implementation stages.

·  Follows dictated standards, tools and platforms to ensure compatibility.

·  Maintains up-to-date knowledge of company products, life and safety codes, HVAC/R and electronics and software developments.

Qualifications:

·  BS Computer Engineering or other similar degree

·  Five or more years of experience with commercial HVAC, or building automation controls

·  Three or more years of experience programming with BACnet, LonWorks, or similar platforms

·  Three or more years of experience designing and troubleshooting network monitoring systems

·  Experience with GUI, MS Visual Studio, and Adobe Flash

·  Acceptable driving record. Current driver’s license

·  Able to be on call and work overtime and weekends

·  Overnight and international travel required

Requirements:

·  Excellent technical knowledge of electrical controls, fire alarm, data communication systems, automation applications

·  Strong understanding of electrical principles and testing equipment

·  Strong technical knowledge in HVAC: working knowledge of all package rooftop equipment, heat pumps, and split systems; chillers, boilers, humidification and working knowledge of refrigeration cycle

·  Basic understanding of plumbing

·  Expert knowledge in building control systems

·  Working knowledge of mission critical electrical distribution systems, switchgear, diesel generators and UPS

·  Ability to read schematics, blueprints, and wiring diagrams

·  Excellent electrical and mechanical ability

·  Excellent troubleshooting ability

·  Organized and possesses good time management skills

·  Able to work independently

·  Excellent customer service skills and strong verbal communication skills

·  Able to travel in car and by plane

·  Speaking, hearing, and seeing for communicating with employees and customers and

·  Occasional lifting up to 50 pounds to move equipment. 

·  Work is Primarily preformed in an office environment. Physical requirements will vary.
