Our Application Engineering Team is responsible for working closely with the Product Development Teams, Product Validation Teams, Marketing Teams, and Sales Teams to provide world-class technical customer support. We provide technical support to assist in design wins, customer product ramp, and customer product production. Responsibilities:

 

Our team is looking for an experienced hardware/software engineer with background in real-time embedded design, with an interest in customer facing role. In this position, you will be supporting, managing, and maintaining hardware and software for processor based storage integrated circuits and reference designs.  You will work closely with Tier 1 OEMs to define requirements, manage deliverables and support initial bring-up to full production. As the primary customer contact, you will play a critical role in reconciling internal and external interests.  You must be able to work independently, yet in a team environment.  You are willing to travel within North America and internationally, and are able to work on-site at large corporations to debug hardware and software while under tight deadlines for the market leading Tachyon product lines.  You will be working closely with cross-functional teams to support customers. Your key focus will be the support of hardware/software solutions to assist with new product design wins, and to assist customer ramp to production. Specifically, you will be required to understand and develop verification requirements, understand architectures and HW/SW designs in order to characterize customer related problems, providing timely customer technical support and engineering feedback.

 

Qualifications: Bachelors degree in EE, CS, or CEMinimum 5 years experienceExperience with board-level debug & bring-upStrong teamwork, communication and presentation skillsCustomer facing experienceAbility to effectively work with cross-functional teams and across multiple geographical locationsStrong debugging skills and experience with bench top equipment such as protocol analyzers/exercisers, logic analyzers, and oscilloscopes.Strong debugging skills and experience with kernel (Windbg), JTAG, serial portStrong fundamental understanding of RAIDExperience working with Marketing and Sales teams

 

Desired Qualifications:3-5 years storage related experience

·  Technical leadership experience

·  Experience with RISC based embedded processors (MIPS preferred)

·  Strong system design skills (HW and SW).

·  Experience with mass storage firmware and software

·  Familiarity with storage networking concepts and protocols (Fibre Channel, 10/100/1000 Ethernet, SCSI, SAS and SATA, iSCSI, PCI, PCI-Express)

·  Past work with Unix & Wintel drivers and experience in FW development with light weight embedded kernels (ThreadX, VxWorks, eCos, etc.)

·  Experience in the Storage Industry

·  C/C++ programming skills

·  TCP/IP knowledge/experience

·  Local Area Networking experience

·  Outsourcing experience
