Senior Technology Development (TD) Manager for Porous Silicon

Director, Disruptive Technology Development

 Description

This is a senior technical management position with hands-on development duties.  The position is based in Kalispell, MT and international travel is required.  The TD Manager oversees the technical aspects of on and off-site porous silicon development programs.  As the top technical asset of the group, the TD manager sets the technical direction for porous silicon concept & feasibility work as well as application development and demos related to porous silicon across all potential markets.  This also involves providing the technical viewpoint needed for tool development in combination with the other engineering groups within Semitool.  Until such time as the department expands to include additional local staff, the TD manager will also be the process and hardware owner of the porous silicon tools and other assets within Semitool.

 Responsibilities

Technical Oversight of Development Programs Lead the technical strategy for meeting the program’s goals Oversee the execution of development and discovery programs Ensure that proper rigor is applied to the program’s undertakings Create, solicit and oversee publications and journal papers Management and mentoring of porous silicon development staff Focal point for technical roadmap

 

Responsibility for Laboratory Assets (onsite or remote) Coordinate applications engineers and mechanical engineering to ensure that lab tools and support equipment used for porous silicon are mission ready Validate and test hardware, software or process upgrades and modifications throughout the process of continuous improvement and optimization Oversight of preparation for and execution of customer demonstrations Perform customer demonstrations as needed until such time that a porous silicon app’s engineer is brought on board. Perform or oversee the development and application work performed in Kalispell with the intent of advancing the art and developing new applications for porous silicon

 

Requirements  5+ years in semiconductor device fabrication and process development Direct experience with development of electrochemical processes and hardware Direct experience with porous silicon formation Demonstrated success in managing development programs M.S. or PhD in a scientific or engineering field (preference will be given to Materials Science & Engineering, Electrochemistry, Solid State Physics and Chemistry degrees.) Flexibility to travel:  Anticipated average of 15% with peaks to 25%

Compensation

Base salary based upon experience, Variable compensation based upon incentives/goals
