Senior Tech Writer
RESPONSIBILITIES: Research product technology by reading specs, interviewing the development staff, and working with prototype products Plan and develop user documentation projects with multiple deliverables Work with staff and contract writers to develop polished, consistent, and effective content Effectively organize and maintain source files and input from project teams Exercise sound judgment in solving problems Initiate and track draft reviews; report project status to management as required; participate in and contribute to quality-improvement activities REQUIREMENTS: Bachelor's degree from an accredited college or university, preferably in technical writing 5-7 years of recent experience in technical writing in structured development environments Professional-level command of technical writing in English Self-starter who requires general direction rather than daily supervision Constructive, proactive project team member Able to develop and manage multiple projects concurrently and consistently meet project deadlines Able to accept and adapt to change Must get along well with people of various backgrounds and personalities Attention to detail while keeping the perspective of broader business needs Able to effectively interview and learn from subject matter experts Proficiency with Adobe FrameMaker and Acrobat; proficiency with Adobe Illustrator and PhotoShop a plus Must work on-site, regular business hours (M-F, 8-5), occasional overtime and travel.
