The Senior Systems Engineer - Electromechanical will be responsible for the design and specification of electro-mechanical products, sub-systems, and components for new and modified designs. Responsible for maintaining a strong link between product management, marketing and sales to drive definition of customer focused new products. Lead cross-functional product development teams internal and external with the ability coordinate development activities and project deliverables. Deliver best in class quality products utilizing Design for Six Sigma, DFR principles and be knowledgeable of the electro-mechanical variation analysis tools such as, Spice / Monte Carlo analysis / Cetol and crystal ball. Direct supervision of low and mid-level engineers internal and external to ensure design excellence is developed in conjunction with major technical development and professional growth within the New Product Engineering (NPE) organization both nationally and globally.This is a new position whose purpose is to provide engineering talent development and growth, analytical tool implementation to drive New Product Development (NPD) cadence, and to drive common tool usage and platform development. This position will be located in Carmel, INJob Duties: Lead electronics/mechanical new product development across the sector. Direct supervision of low and mid-level engineers and external design resources and companies. Lead cross-functional product development teams and coordinate development activities and project deliverables. Drive SOW definition for new products leveraging outside design firms Drive cross-functional execution to meet milestone/program deliverables. Clearing communication with the ability to report summaries to the business teams. Must drive DFSS, DFR, VOC, Spice or other Ckt analysis and other six sigma / Monte Carlo analysis to ensure Systems Design excellence in electronic and mechanical product. Strong analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to train others in systems engineering principles.
Requirements: Must possess strong verbal and written communication skills and have the ability and experience to provide high-level engineering leadership. Must possess the ability to research designs and ideas for improvement and provide technical direction. Knowledge and implementation of product development processes, strong knowledge of electronics manufacturing and process variation associated with mechanical systems and working knowledge electronic/mechanical analysis tools. Strong leadership and organizational skills with the ability to communicate upward. High energy and the ability to energize the team. Education & Minimum Years of Experience: Electronics / Electrical Engineering degree OR Mechanical Engineering with minimum of 5 years experience as an Electromechanical Engineer. Electrical Engineering degree with minimum of 5 years experience Leading Electro-Mechanical developments Engineers (i.e. Electronics Engineering Manager/Director/VP). Minimum of 5 years experience in Electronics Systems Engineering type role. Knowledge & Work Experience: Demonstrated high-level engineering capabilities with proficiency in electro-mechanical consumer products design and analysis, Must have a background in firmware, electronics and electromechanical consumer product design and development. Demonstrated ability to mange external development companies. Additional Skills (Computer/Technical): Working knowledge electronics and mechanical analytical toolsPercentage of Travel:30%Min. Yrs.
