Senior Systems Assurance Test Engineer

Position Summary:

This position shares responsibility for the creation, implementation, execution and maintenance of the test plans, code, scripts and harnesses used in testing the Cynamic C IDE and related software components together with Rabbit CPU based hardware.

Essential Functions and Accountabilities:

Contribute to the validation and release of new and revised software and hardware products by performing the following essential tasks:Creation, implementation, maintenance and execution of test plans, code, scripts and harnesses used in validation of the Dynamic C compiler, libraries and related software components. Creation, implementation, maintenance and execution of test plans, code, scripts and harnesses used in validation of Rabbit CPU based hardware. Initial analysis and report of software and hardware bugs found during testing Ability to analyze and diagnose bugs in a highly complex development environment Ability to design and refine software and hardware test plans with input from both engineers and non-engineers Provide recommendations to other engineering staff when problems or roadblocks are encountered Help to steer thinking towards problems that are being solved and how observed behavior might help explain the issue Help others to reason through problems instead of answering questions to help build critical thinking and problem solving skills Mentor new engineers Shared administrative duties in defect management database (TestTrack/Vantive) and version control database (Source Safe).

Position Requirements:Bachelors Degree in Computer Science or in Computer engineering with 4-6 years of experience, or Masters degree with 1-3 years of experience, or PhD Extensive knowledge of IP-based networking architectures, protocols and applications, including IPv4 and IPv6. Strong written and verbal communication skills Strong experience with C Ability to quickly grasp, adapt and extend test code written by others Experience with complete software lifecycle Experience with test automation tools such as Test complete and/or bash scripting Experience with a defect amanagement system like TestTrack or Vantive Team Player

Physical Demands:

Extended periods of sitting and occasional lifting of computer or electronic test equipment required.
