Microvision currently has an opportunity in our Quality Department for an experienced Supplier Quality Engineer.

 

Position Summary:

 

Microvision, Inc. is currently seeking an individual that will be responsible for implementing a Supply Chain Excellence program for high volume electronics manufacturing based upon the principles of the Lean Enterprise.  Candidates should have demonstrable experience implementing Supply Chain strategies that maintain good communication, solidify partner relationships, reduce the Cost of Poor Quality and drive on-time delivery of materials. 

 

The successful Senior Supplier Quality Engineer (SQE) is a seasoned quality engineer that will play a key role in supplier auditing & selection, line & process qualification, developing metrics & operating mechanisms to drive continual improvements of parts, sub assemblies & systems, and will manage industrialization.  The Senior Supplier Quality Engineer interfaces with Microvision Integrated Product Development Teams to define supplier capability.  The SQE will manage complex problems and supplier relationships with regard to Quality Assurance and New Product Introduction.

 

Description:

 

The SQE's key responsibilities include component quality assurance, suppliers manufacturing processes and the supplier quality system including:

 Supplier auditing & qualificationsEarly integration of Supplier Quality requirements into the product development teams, with responsibility for the quality specifications, product monitoring/qualification and metrics development/reportingCoordination of the industrialization of new products, components and complex sub-assemblies at the supplier including project management, manufacturing control plans & Design/Process Change Order management Perform supplier quality process & line release qualificationsQuality of  product, sub-assemblies and components for assigned suppliers Corrective and continuous improvement actions with suppliersResolution and management of complex, cross functional supplier quality projects or problemsContinuous improvements of the Microvision Supplier Quality Management System Support  of production, planners and commodity managersUp to 50% travel requirementOther duties as assigned

 

Required Skills: 

 

Qualified candidates will demonstrate experience:

 Minimum of 5 years related experienceExtensive international (preferably Asia) experience with supplier auditing Thorough knowledge of manufacturing and quality management systems including ISO 9001:2000Experience in product introduction and ramp up processesExperience in a fast paced, high volume manufacturing environmentAbility to handle multiple tasks simultaneous with effective reporting skillsAbility to organize and prioritize work, meet deadlines, and possess strong project management skillsStrong written, verbal, analytical, negotiating and interpersonal skillsDemonstrated success in working within cross-functional teams in a multi-cultural environmentAbility to comply with company policies and code of conduct as specified



Desired Skills: 

 

Six Sigma Certification or other proven quality problem methodologies Demonstrable experience in Lean Manufacturing (Toyota Production System) Background in Design for Manufacturing Semi-Conductor, MEMS or wafer level processes knowledge
